ICT Champion

Coinciding the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day on 17th May 2014, ICT Champions were recognized for their contribution in ICT sector.  

Tshering Dorji, IT Officer from Tsirang Dzongkhag, was recognized for his contribution in developing Dzongkha-English Dictionary which was handed over to Dzongkha Development Commission. Dzongkha-English Dictionary application works on windows platform,  a copy of it can be found in DDC website.

Younten Jamtsho, IT Officer from Department of National Budget, Ministry of Finance, was recognized for his contribution in developing android app named "Bhutan News". The app is a news aggregator that collects news from local news media sites and from three international news sites. The app is available on Google Play Store under the developer named "Bhutan ICT".

Bhutan and Singapore signed MoU on ICT

Bhutan and Singapore have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Operation in the field of Information Communication Technology. IDA International, a subsidiary of the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore, are collaborating with Department of Information Technology & Telecom & Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) with a fund support from Temasek Foundation, Singapore. The program will focus mainly on: 1. ICT Parenting. Centralize all Government ICT personnel under DITT. 2. e-GIF (e-Government Interoperability Framework) Develop data standards which would allow government agencies to interoperate systems data. 3. e-Government Master Plan Develop and implement a National ICT Master Plan.

Civil and Electrical Estimation Software (CEES) was developed by a ICT personnel working under Pema Gatshel dzongkhag. The software would ease the work for engineers under taking any projects. The software is mainly targeted for the local needs of the country.
