BMobile launching 4G LTE

Bhutan Telecom has announced the launch of 4G LTE service for its B-Mobile subscribers. The launch date is on 24th October 2013. First phase of implementation is at Thimphu. 4G LTE (Fourth Generation Long Term Evolution) is a next level mobile network which is much faster than 3G.

4G APN setting is similar to its 3G network APN. The APN name is "internet".

Bhutan Telecom upgrades its International Bandwidth to 3.1Gbps

Druknet has once again upgraded its international bandwidth to 3.1 Gbps. They are planning to implement 10G network backbone. As of now they are connected to 2.6 Gbps from Phuentsholing international gatway and 0.5 Gbps from Gelephu international gateway.

Bhutan Telecom upgrades its International Bandwidth to 1.1 Gbs

Bhutan Telecom, one of the ISP's in Bhutan have upgraded its international Bandwidth from existing 622Mbps to 1.1 Gbs from 1 March 2013. Druknet general manager, Tshering Norbu, said that the upgrade in international bandwidth would result in lower broadband internet prices in the next few months.

Bhutan Telecom 3G

3G is a short form for 3rd Generation. 3G is a mobile telecommunication technology. Bhutan Telecom has recently announced to its user to buy smartphones which would support GSM 850/900/1800 MHz & WCDMA 850/1900/2100 MHz frequencies. Currently they are in progress of migrating the current 3G frequency from 2100 MHz to 850 MHz.
